THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A day without sunshine is like,
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
This, the Thursday before Easter, commemorates Jesus eating His last supper with the disciples.
On that evening, after supper, Jesus assumed the role of a servant, and washed the disciples feet.
Then, Jesus used the experience as an example.
He said, “If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.”
And, Jesus added to the example.
“That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
Today, let us remember that the last supper leads into SERVANTHOOD.
Jesus’ last supper led to betrayal, denial, arrest, and eventually the CROSS.
The cross is where God denied Himself to give us what we needed – FORGIVENESS.
May we be:
READY to serve;
WILLING to serve;
because of the GOD we serve!
