A cleric found himself wondering whether there were any golf courses in Heaven.
He even began to ask the question in his prayers.
One day, in answer to his prayers, he received a direct answer from on high.

"Yes," said the Heavenly messenger, "There are many excellent golf courses in Heaven. The greens are always in first class condition, the weather is always perfect and you always get to play with the very nicest people."

"Oh, thank you," said the cleric, "That really is marvelous news."

"Yes, isn't it?" replied the messenger, "And we've got you down for a foursome next Saturday."

John 17:3-4
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Yesterday the devotion was about how Jesus and ONLY Jesus can give eternal life.

That eternal life is to KNOW Him, and to KNOW that God will bring you through
all this life has into eternal glory with Him!
That eternal life is what makes this life abundantly joyful. (John 10:10)

Jesus came and "finished" the work God had given Him.
He provided Holy atonement for unholy men.
He opened the door through which ANY person may receive God's forgiveness.
He established the "church" through which He calls men to salvation.

And, Jesus provided the sealing of those who surrender to Him into
the Holy Spirit of God. (Eph. 1:13)

Through the entrance of God's Holy Spirit into our lives, God causes us
to be made new, created again. (2Cor. 5:17)

When we are saved, God's Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our hearts.
He becomes the center of our attention and decision making.
Because, His Holy Spirit works in us both the desire and the doing of His will. (Phippians 2:13)

And most of all, when we are saved, we are made to KNOW that we are placed securely in the hands of the Living God,
and NOTHING nor ANYONE can remove us from that place!
John 10:28-29 says,
"28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

Through surrender to Christ, the believer can KNOW that he/she is saved because God gives him/her
the gift of "faith" which enables us to cling to Christ. (Eph. 2:8-9, John 20:31, 1John 5:13)

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:"!! (1 John 3:1)

This is not a hope so, or maybe so salvation!
It is a KNOW SO salvation!

You can know that you are FILLED up with God's Holy Spirit.
You can live in this faith never letting up, or easing up, or shutting up, or giving up until you are taken up!

Because Christ has "FINISHED" the work!

Are you prepared for a "foursome" next week?

Love ya!
