THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The second week our son was in the first grade, the teacher called.

She said, “I can’t get Bobby to learn because I can’t get him to listen.
He just keeps looking out the window.”

I told her, “You will have to paddle him. First, you must gain his attention!”

She did, and he did.

THOUGHT____________________________________

The last two devotions have been about the PERFECT GIFT: JESUS!
He is the GIFT that KEEPS ON GIVING.

Once Christ gains our attention through conviction, convincing and commitment;
then we are ready to listen and learn. (John 6:45 above)

Children will grow to live by feelings if they are not taught principles.
Thus, one is not a true Christian unless he/she is first a disciple – student of Christ.

Having received Christ, a person receives God’s Holy Spirit, “the Spirit of truth.” (Eph. 1:13)
He is the gift of faith, whereby we are enabled to constantly cling to Christ. (Eph. 2:8-9)
He constantly draws our attention to learning so that we may grow in Christ and glorify Christ. (John 16:13-14 above)

As we study the Word of God, His Holy Spirit teaches us the principles of truth. (John 14:26 above)
Then, as we live life, His Holy Spirit reminds us to live by the principles of truth. (John 14:26 above)

What child, having received a bicycle, does not want to RIDE the bike?
Owning the bike, of itself, does not open the exhilaration of experiencing the ride!
LEARNING to balance, pedal, and do things with the bike opens MORE experiences!

What a marvelous GIFT God gives through receiving Christ!
His Holy Spirit helps us experience new things through Him every day!
For He daily showers His disciples with the “benefits” of salvation! (Ps. 68:19)

Let us then make the Word of God our “delight”! (Ps. 119:77)

And, let us “Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
(2Pet. 3:18)

Love ya!
