THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Sam had been “testy” all day.
Finally, Mom sent him to his room.
She told him, “You go to your room and STAY!
And, while you’re there, you better PRAY;
and ask God to make you a better boy!”

Sam went to his room and knelt by his bed.
For a long time, he didn’t say anything.
Finally, he said, “God, if You can’t make me a better boy, don’t worry about it.
I’m having fun just like I am!”

2 Tim 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

JESUS is the PERFECT GIFT.
Because HE is the "gift" that keeps on giving!

When we receive the PERFECT GIFT - JESUS,
we first receive His Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13), and
God's Holy Spirit leads us to receive insight into His Word - Bible.

The goal of almost every parent is for their children to “grow up!”
Parents want their children to mature and make wise decisions.
That’s why parents provide education for their children.

The goal God has for His children is the same!

God desires that we “grow up into Him (Christ) in all things!” (Ephesians 4:15)
God has even given us a “textbook” for our education – the BIBLE! (2Timothy 3:16 above)
God desires that we learn from His textbook. (2Timothy 2:15)

When we are saved, we are “born again.”
We are made new spiritually, and need to “grow up!”
1 Peter 2:2 says,
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

Sometimes, (like little Sam in the joke above) we get caught up in “having fun” just like we are.
And, we forget to GROW UP!

Since you have received the PERFECT GIFT - JESUS,
let His Holy Spirit guide you into His truth - the BIBLE.

Love ya!
