THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 tragedy struck at the small
First Baptist Church of Sutherland, TX.

A gunman began shooting even before reaching the
the church, and continued to shoot after entering.

The incident left 26 dead and more than 20 others
injured.

One family, Joe and Claryce Pomeron lost EIGHT
family members!

Yet, here is what Joe Pomeron said to the news media:
"It's of course going to be difficult."
But, he said, "We are Christians; we have read the book.
We know the ending, and it's good."
"God will see us through."

Eph 5:14-16
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest,
and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools,
but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
KJV

Ps 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

LIGHT from the WORD.

WHY? Someone might ask. WHY a CHURCH?

There have been many shootings in other churches over the years.
Some churches have been burned.
Christians have been persecuted, and even beheaded.

WHY?

"BECAUSE the days are EVIL!"

There is evil in the world today.
And, the REASON for it is explained through the life of
King Rehoboam.

There HAS been, IS, and always WILL be much evil in the world.
THAT is why we Christians must "AWAKE..."

We must DAILY "arise from" the deadness of apathy.
We must DAILY walk in closeness with our Lord so that we can say,
"God is our REFUGE and STRENGTH!"

God is ALWAYS with us, and that is a "very present help
in time of trouble!"

KNOW "the ending" that it is "all good!"
And, walk DAILY with Christ in your hearts!

Love ya!
