THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Now I lay me down to sleep;
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should awake from this bed in which I lie;
Lord, remind me - in the fridge is apple pie!
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and
mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Light from the Word.
I'm afraid too many Christians lie in the spiritual bed of sleep;
when God wants to give us apple pie experiences!
God longs to hear His children pray in faith.
God longs to answer His children's prayer of faith.
God longs to take his children to higher spiritual levels of experience.
The vehicle He uses to transport us there is prayer.
Through prayer, we can visit Mt. Sinai and hear the booming voice of God
as He writes His precious Word on the stone of our heart.
Through prayer, we can visit the wilderness with Elijah and hear the
"still small voice" of God speaking to us.(1Kings 19:12)
Through prayer, we can visit the Garden of Gethsemane and find our Lord
praying with us that we not be taken from the world, but that we would be
saved from the evil of the world.
There, we would also hear our Lord praying that we would find a oneness
with Him that cannot be experienced without deep prayer.
And, through prayer, we will find the
"peace of God that passeth all understanding!" (See Philippians 4:6-7)
Pray and see what "great and mighty things" God will show you!
