"My Portion"
The following was published in the
December 27, 1942, New York (NY) Times.
A private was writing a letter home to his
mother.
He said, “The food in this camp is absolute
poison.”
Then, continuing his complaint he said,
“and such small portions!”

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance
and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

Psalm 16 was written by David.
The word "portion" is derived from the Hebrew
CHELEQ (khay' lek).
It means inheritance.
The word "lot" is derived from the Hebrew
GOWRAL (go-rawl').
It means destiny, or whole.
Many have desired to be God's INHERITANCE.
They desire to RECEIVE what God offers.
But have they DECIDED to let God "maintain(est)
my WHOLE?"
Christ fought the battle against the devil and
sin, and WON!
He invested is ALL in people.
"I am come that they might have life, and that
they might have it MORE ABUNDANTLY!"
(John 10:10)
But have YOU invested your ALL in Christ?
