THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A lady went to the tombstone-cutter’s office.
She said she wanted to order a small tombstone for her husband who had just died.
She wanted a simple one with no frills and only one small inscription.

She told the cutter to engrave “To my husband” in a suitable place.

When the tombstone arrived, she looked at it with horror.
On the tombstone was engraved, “To my husband, in a suitable place.”!!

SCRIPTURE_____________________________________________________

Heb 2:14-15
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

Jesus’ death destroyed the devil. (vs 14 above)
Jesus’ death sent a crushing blow to the devil’s head (Gen. 3:15).

Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection brought DELIVERY (salvation) to all who are in bondage to sin, which is the cause of death. (vs 15 above)

“For the WAGES of sin is death;...” (Rom. 6:23A)
“BUT, the GIFT of God is eternal LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom. 6:23B)

We who are surrendered to Jesus as Lord, need not fear death!
For death only brings instantaneous delivery from this life of sin, sickness, turmoil and sorrow.
That delivery is immediately into the hands of Him Who gives us joy, peace and eternal happiness!

The way to face death positively is through faith in Christ.

Do you live in fear of death?
Or, are you READY?

Love ya,
Bruce
