THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Once when I was teaching school, I saw one of our students getting out of his truck.
On the back windshield of his truck was a big sticker that said:
I asked the young man if he knew what that meant.
He said, "Yes, sir. It means God's love is so good He takes away the fear of death!"
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Fear is a normal human reaction to disease, war, hurricanes and earthquakes; all of which are natural disasters.
But God gives His people, who abide in Him, an understanding that is greater than fear.
We must remember that as we live on this earth, God Who is in us, is greater than all that is around us (See 1John 4:4).
We should also remember that God gives His people a spirit of "power and of a sound mind." (See 2Timothy 1:7)
The fear of death is normal for human beings.
But, God's saved people realize that death has NO STING (1Corinthians 15:55).
Death simply means we go to be with the Lord!
