THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day, and the preacher was
standing at the door as he always is to shake hands.
He grabbed my friend by the hand and pulled him aside.
The Pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"
My friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."
Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"
He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service."
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners;
and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
When you experience turmoil or difficulty, do you go immediately to God and ask,
"shew me wherefore thou contendest with me." (Job 10:2)
Do you recognize affliction as a "touch of God" to call you to repentant living?
Are you content to be a Christian without a daily prayer life?
Are you daily studying His Word and listening as it speaks to your heart?
Are you active in your church, or content to be in "the secret service?"
It is indeed a serious matter when a Christian has only sparse fellowship with Christ!
The power of living as a Christian is derived from close communion with our Lord!
Take time to turn aside from the world to Jesus each day.
Be CLOSE to Him, and He will be close to you.
