THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The chemistry professor was explaining about the sulfuric acid we had in the bunson burner.
He explained that we should be careful not to let even ONE drop of water fall in the hot sulfuric acid.
My friend/partner and I looked at one another at the same time.
The professor went into the chemical room to get some more chemicals.
Did you know that ONE drop of water in hot sulfuric acid will blow a hole in the ceiling one foot square?!
1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
John the Baptist was the voice of ONE.
Yet he made a tremendous impact on the world around him.
And he has been remembered throughout history.
John's message was very simple, including three points:
THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND (NEARBY)
MAKE PATHS STRAIGHT (GET READY!)
After reading this one day, Squire Parsons sat down and wrote a song named ONE VOICE.
"One voice crying in the wilderness,
One voice proclaiming righteousness,
One man doing what he's called to do,
One man faithful and true.
One voice mightier than a thousand swords,
Calling out prepare ye the way of the Lord.
He that is coming is much greater than me.
And I will gladly His servant be."
The message of the song is evident.
You may be only ONE voice.
But one voice in humble submission to Christ can make a vast difference in the world!!
Mostly, our allegiance to Christ can be determined by the manner in which we participate in conversations.
