I went to Starbucks for coffee.
The chemist said it was bad for me, it changes body chemistry.
The doctor said it was bad for me, it contains too much caffeine.
The psychiatrist said it was good for me, it boosts feelings.
The pastor said it was good for me, it lifts one's spirit.

I don't know whom to believe.
And, though it tasted great, the COST was high for such a small taste!

Eph 1:13-14
3 In whom (Jesus) ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The "earnest" of our holy inheritance is only a downpayment until the full "redemption" of our souls are made at the final day of time.

It is only a "taste" of what is to come!

But this "taste" is the indwelling Spirit of the Living God!

The experience of His entry, upon our repentance and surrender to Jesus, is such that we cannot explain the JOY!

We actually "taste" the Lord's grace and mercy!
We are washed in His blood, and presented pure before God's throne!
We KNOW His forgiveness and acceptance!
We are "sealed" in His Spirit and know His presence continually!
We begin to LEARN and GROW "in" Christ, and begin to live FOR Christ!
We have assurance that our citizenship is in heaven!
The "firstfruits" of His indwelling Spirit make us begin to "hunger and thirst" for the fulness of the "purchased possession!"

For this is only a "taste!"

And Peter says in 1 Peter 2:1-3,
"Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have TASTED that the Lord is gracious."

Love ya,
