THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A heart surgeon was at the auto garage having his car repaired.
He had known the mechanic for a long time.
The mechanic said, "Doc, I'd like to ask you a question. Why is that when you operate on a man's heart you get $20,000? But when I operate on a man's car motor, I only get $1,000?
We actually both are required to have knowledge of the problem, and skills to put it back together properly. What's the difference?"
The doctor said, "Well, I have to operate while it's RUNNING!"
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
When worldly men provoke God with idolatry, He operates on the world.
God brings conflict designed to reprove the sins of men and turn them to God's eternal love.
However, while God is operating on the world in conflict, He is also operating on the hearts of His children to keep them in peace.
Though wars may come, storms bring destruction, nations fail and fall, earthquakes shake, and though volcanoes erupt, God's own are kept safe.
When the world is a wreck, God is operating on the hearts of believers to keep them in peace.
God's Holy Spirit teaches believers the truths of God through the study of His Word.
God's Holy Spirit gives believers power to recall those principals of truth while they are living in the world.
Thus, God's Holy Spirit keeps the believers heart regenerated even in the heartaches of the world.
When believers hear of "wars and rumours of wars, ...earthquakes,....and famines,...and troubles" (Mark 13:7-8),
they are at "peace" because "..greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." (1 John 4:4).
Believer, whenever the world is in turmoil, rest in His "peace."
His "banner" over you "is LOVE!"
His truths in you are everlasting.
His hope is eternal.
And even though He may not save you in the world, He will save you into heaven!
Remain strong in His promises.
Be secure in His faithfulness.
Stand defiant against all dark storms.
Because God is operating on you while you are running.
And you have the "peace of God which passeth all understanding..."
That peace "shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
