THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Two business partners decided to take a day off and go fishing.

They were in the boat, dangling fishing lines in the lake, when one of them snapped his fingers.
He said, "Oh my!! We left the safe open!"
His partner answered, "It'll be ok. We're both here!"

Our Scripture today puts two things in comparison:
"fear" of man, or "trust" of God.

To "fear" mankind is to give place to what others think.
This type of living is a "snare!"

Living according to how others think of us will entrap the soul and lead us away from God.
Remember Peter, the night Jesus was taken away and tried?
Peter feared others might think he was part of Jesus' entourage, so Peter DENIED the Lord!

Many people live only for social acceptance and give no thought to eternity.
They actually live in DENIAL of the LORD!

To "trust in the LORD" is to live according to HIS direction, regardless of what others think.
This type of living is "safe!"

Peter and John had been vessels through which God healed a lame man.
They were told not to preach in this "Name" (Jesus) again!
But they answered, "We CANNOT but SPEAK the things which we have seen and heard!" (Acts 4:20)

Let us allow our "trust in the LORD" to
overcome our "fear of man!"

Love ya,
Bruce
