THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”
( Abraham Lincoln)
2 Cor 5:17-18
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
When a person truly surrenders to Christ, he is changed.
The old man is "crucified with Christ." (Gal. 2:20)
The person is "born again" (John 3:3) as "a new creature." (2Cor. 5:17 above)
The new Christian has experienced Christ, and can now share that experience with others.
THIS is the "ministry of reconciliation."
Those who are reconciled seek others to be reconciled.
God told Paul (Acts 18:10) "I have much people in this city."
Paul was in Corinth, and most of the people there worshipped idols.
But God had a plan for many of them to be "reconciled" to Him.
And Paul's testimony was part of God's plan to bring them to Him.
It may seem a "thorny" life to share the Gospel with many, and see that Gospel rejected.
But, the "roses" are those who believe, receive and surrender to Christ!
Live among the thorns.
Share the Gospel of Christ.
The saved will be edified.
Christ will be glorified.
And, rejoice when roses appear!
