SCRIPTURE______________________________

Eph 4:11-16
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge
of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro,
and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight
of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things,
which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted
by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual
working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the
body unto the edifying of itself in love.

LIGHT from the WORD.

October is Pastor Appreciation month.
I certainly appreciate my pastor, Bro. Warren Maxwell,
pastor of Columbia Heights Baptist Church.

CONSIDER what your pastor must do.
He must constantly battle the world and contend with
those who abuse the church with “sleight of men, and
cunning craftiness,”
and with those who misuse
the church with false winds of “doctrine.”

It is the pastor's responsibility to educate the “saints,
for the work of the ministry,”
and to “edify the body
of Christ.”
He must work towards those goals even though
most of us members are “children,” seldom in
“unity,” and certainly not “perfect!”

Remember to work WITH your pastor as a “body fitly joined
together,”
and supply YOUR part of “working” to
make “increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love!”

Tell your pastor how much you appreciate him!
Tell your Lord how you appreciate the calling of your
pastor, and ask the Lord to guide him.

Remember, no SANE man would become pastor without
God's Holy Spirit anointing, and calling!
He needs God's support via your prayers.
And, he needs YOUR support through involvement!

Love ya!
Bro. Bruce
