THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

My wife was genuinely excited when cordless phones first hit the market.
She said, "Now I can talk while I work around the house."

But when we want a little peace in our house we use a PHONELESS CORD!

What's your idea of a perfectly peaceful life?
Some people like "smooth - sailing," others don't mind a few bumps.
Some people want life to be busy, others want it to be quiet.
Your idea of a perfect life may not be perfect for someone else.

As Christians, we're supposed to be working toward perfection, but thank God, we don't have to be perfect to have Jesus.
However, we can all have perfect PEACE.

PEACE
See what Paul says, "Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace .... The Lord be with you all."
It is through God's PRESENCE in our lives that we have PEACE!

It is possible to have inner peace even when your life is in turmoil.
That inner peace is found by knowing Christ has forgiven, accepted and saved you.

GRACE
Grace ( Greek - charis, or gift) generally refers to the power and love of God flowing toward an individual to give them His goodness through salvation.
It is better described by the acrostic: God's Riches At Christ's Expense.

Grace is God's initiative.
You see it is "BY grace" we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9).
It was BY grace that God demonstrated His love for us through Calvary's cross.

But grace also refers to the power of God to continue working in us and give us enabling power from Him to handle life for His glory.
Thus, grace is actually the power of God working in and through an individual.

That grace, too, has it's root in Jesus Christ.
See what Paul says, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all."

THROUGH CHRIST
It is THROUGH grace that we receive God's love, and His power to have consolation, hope, comfort and encouragement in our lives.

Today, may you have PEACE and GRACE through our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Love ya,
Bruce
