THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Two men were riding a bicycle built for two.
They came to a long, steep hill. It took a great struggle for the men
to complete the long climb.
When they got to the top, the man in front said,
"Boy! That was a tuff climb!"
The other said, "Yes! And if I hadn't kept the brakes on, we'd
have rolled down backwards!"
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet
appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall
appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself,
even as he is pure.
Light from the Word.
The end result of salvation is for God to one day bring us to be
with Him in glory.
There we shall be as Jesus our Lord when He was resurrected.
We may not understand HOW that will be, but we know that it
WILL be according to God's Word.
It is this end result, or vision of hope, that calls the Christian to
cooperation with the Master today.
The realization of Christ's second coming causes us to dedicate
our lives to His purposes.
We are called to place our wills alongside His will, and work to
PEDAL up the long hill of life.
Cooperating with Christ is not "giving up" this or that.
It is allowing His Divine power to work through us for holy living.
God's Holy Spirit provides power for holy living.
God's Word provides the principles for such living.
Cooperating with our Lord means we allow Him to work through us
and develop a life that glorifies His Name.
Now the question is: "Are you PEDALING, or putting on the BRAKES?"
