Today's Devotion:
"PHYSICAL or SPIRITUAL EXERCISE"

Aerobics:
a series of strenuous exercises which
help convert fats, sugars, and starches
into aches, pains, and cramps.

1 Tim 4:8-9
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but
godliness is profitable unto all things,
having promise of the life that now is, and
of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all
acceptation.

_______THOUGHT__________________

Now, most folk who know me will tell you I
do a lot of PHYSICAL exercise.
I do believe exercise, in the appropriate
manner and time, is beneficial.
It strengthens muscles, increases agility,
and aids mobility.

However, exercise and health foods to the
EXTREME can cause body dysfunction.

And, even appropriate exercising and eating
healthy will not, I repeat WILL NOT
increase your lifespan one second!!

God has a great respect for arithmetical
coefficients.
In fact, He wrote a book called Numbers!

Multiplying exercise and/or calculating calories
may help for the MOMENT.
But they will not add one second to the lifespan!

That's because God has our days NUMBERED!
Jesus said Himself, that we cannot add one little
bit to our stature. (Matt. 6:27)
The Greek word from which stature is translated
can mean a measurement of distance or time.

SPIRITUAL exercise is gaining WISDOM from
God's WORD!
Wisdom, acquired from God's Word, is much
like exercise and proper dieting.
While it may not add distance to your lifespan,
it certainly makes life more enjoyable!

Yes! EXERCISE!
Exercise your body.

But, more importantly, exercise your spirit!

For THAT is what gives you joy in this life,
AND the joy of KNOWING you have eternal
life in Jesus!
