The new pastor came to preach the first Sunday in a rather large church.
Everyone loved his sermon.

During the next four weeks, things were really hectic at the church.
Several people died, several were in the hospital, three weddings, plus functions and activities
took time away from the pastor for sermon preparation.

So, he preached his first sermon three more times.

The deacons decided they needed to talk to the Director of Missions about this.
The Director asked, “What were the main points of the sermon?”
The deacons hem-hawed around, scratched their heads; but couldn’t remember.

The Director said, “Well, perhaps he should preach that sermon AGAIN!”

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

2 Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

So, for all Christians out there: Let me preach this sermon ONE more time!

1. It is God’s desire that ALL mankind should not “perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
Yes, God realizes that ALL men WILL NOT be saved.
For some will REFUSE.
This does not lessen God’s desire; neither does it constrict our commission!

2. YOU, Christian have received power to be God’s “witnesses” in all corners of the earth; or,
wherever you travel.
God has specifically empowered Christians by His Holy Spirit to TESTIFY of His salvation.
He has promised that His Holy Spirit within you will TEACH you all of His Word (John 14:26).
He has promised that when you testify, His Holy Spirit accompanies the Word (Acts 1:8 above).
And, He has commissioned you as His “ambassador” to all whom you meet. (2Cor. 5:20)

3. So, “GROW!”
Grow in grace and the graceful conduct of yourselves.
And, grow in “knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
The PURPOSE of your growth is to be emissaries of Christ and His free salvation to ALL you meet!

Each “plant” (Christian) originates from the “seed” (God’s Word).
NONE have been saved without it.

The purpose of the seed is to grow into a healthy plant and produce more seed (multiply)!

If you are truly a plant from the seed, then plant more seed!

Love ya!
