THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

J. Sterling Morton was making a speech.
A man in the crowd yelled, "LOUDER!"

So Morton lifted his voice higher.
The man yelled again, "LOUDER!"

So Morton stepped to the front of the stage and yelled.
The man yelled again, "LOUDER!"

At this point, Mr. Morton realized the man in the crowd was “playing games” with him.

Morton said, "My friends, the time will finally come when the vast machinery of this universe must stop, and all the wheels, gears and belts be motionless, when the spheres shall cease to roll, and the defined periods of time be lost in eternity.

In that awful hour, my friends, the angel Gabriel will descend from the battlements of heaven, and place one foot on the land and the other on the sea. He will force a blast from his trumpet which will reverberate throughout the remotest corners of the universe.

And, when he does, some small-bore idiot will yell:
LOUDER, LOUDER!"

Heb 4:6-7
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein,
and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time;
as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

THOUGHT____________________________________

It seems many people want God to allow salvation on THEIR time-table.
They "play games" with God.

One game is: IGNORE Him.
One game is: Acknowledge God, but don't let Him get CLOSE!
One game is: Believe God, but don't let Him have CONTROL of your life.

God is NOT ABOUT "games!"
The cross of Calvary certainly proves God is SERIOUS!

Life is BRIEF and UNCERTAIN!
You don't KNOW that you have tomorrow!

If you've been hearing God call you to salvation, and you haven't surrendered to him --
"TODAY ...hear His voice, harden not your hearts!"

Christian, if you've been putting off talking to your neighbor, friend, loved one --
"TODAY...hear His voice, harden not your hearts!"

When God finally says it "LOUDER,"
It'll be TOO LATE!

Love ya!
