THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Just before WWII, television comedy writer and producer Frank Galen reported for his Army physical when his draft notice came.

When he finally reached the front of the line, the sergeant read his papers and said, "So, you're a comedy writer, huh? Say something funny."

Galen thought for a moment, then turned to face the long line of recruits standing behind him in their underwear.
Then he yelled, "OK MEN! THE REST OF YOU CAN GO HOME NOW! THE POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED!"

THOUGHT____________________________

Isaiah had a vision of the Lord.
He saw the Lord "high and lifted up," and His glory filled the temple.
He saw seraphim crying out "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts."

Isaiah new the Scripture, and thought surely he must die because he had seen the Lord.
But then God spoke, and the doorposts of the temple shook from the force of His voice.

What a glorious vision!

When God spoke, He asked, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"
Isaiah was quite willing to go and do anything the Lord commanded.
He answered, "Here am I, send me!"

Today, you and I have seen our Lord, "high and lifted up."
His glory bloodspattered by our sins.
Instead of seraphim surrounding Him, we have seen him nailed to a cruel cross.

We have heard Him speak, "..why hast Thou forsaken me?"
The torment of separation from Holiness because of our sinfulness was more than He could bear in His body, and He died literally of a broken heart.
But the power of His voice shook the earth, and His Spirit split the veil of the temple in half!

What a glorious vision!

Later, after His resurrection, Jesus met the disciples and said, "Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations...." (Matthew 28:18-20).

That "Great Commission" to all disciples still stands.
It is basically the same question God asked Isaiah, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"

Are you willing to say, “This position is FILLED?”

Love ya!
