Today's Devotion:
"POWER In GENTLENESS"
HI!
A hawk, a lion and a skunk were discussing who
had the most power in the woods.
The hawk insisted that he had the most power.
He said, "I can fly and swoop down swiftly on my
prey."
The lion said, "No, I have the most power. I'm not
only fast, but I have powerful claws and teeth."
The skunk said, "You are both wrong. I have the
most power, because, with a flick of my tail I can
run you both off!"
Just then a grizzly bear came running through the
woods and ate them all -- hawk, lion and stinker!
_______SCRIPTURE_______________
2 Sam 22:33-36
33 God is my strength and power:
and he maketh my way perfect.
34 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet:
and setteth me upon my high places.
35 He teacheth my hands to war;
so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation:
and thy gentleness hath made me great.

_______THOUGHT_______________
Elijah outran Ahab's chariot.
Samson pulled down a whole house.
David was a very skilled warrior.
But all their speed, strength and prowess came
from GOD!
All that we have and are, comes from God our
Creator!
"Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised;
and His greatness is unsearchable."
(Ps. 145:3)
But the greatest gift God gives us is th "shield"
of "salvation!"
Only God can save us from the wiles of the
"Temptor."
Only God can save us from the sinfulness of the
world.
Only God can save us from our own self-destruction.
God is omnipotent, having all power.
And, He has placed all power in Jesus Christ!
Matt 28:18 says, "And Jesus came and spake
unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth."
Yet, it is not speed, power or skillfulness that makes
God GREAT!
It is His "gentleness!"
For He has mercy upon our souls and offers us
salvation from the bondage of sin!
May we remember that the POWER of God is
accompanied by the GENTLENESS of God!
And may WE reflect that in our lives.
Love ya!
