Today's Devotion:
"PRAYER PATHS"
Early African converts to Christianity were
earnest and regular in private devotions.
Each one reportedly had a separate spot
in the thicket where he would pour out his
heart to God.
Over time the paths to these places became
well worn.
As a result, if one of these believers began
to neglect prayer, it was soon apparent to
the others.
They would kindly remind the negligent one,
"Brother, the grass grows on your path."
(Today in the Word, June 29, 1992.)
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, shall keep your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus.
KJV
_______THOUGHT______________
Being a Christian does not mean we
automatically become super men or super
women.
The REASON for prayer is to release our
problems into the hands of our Loving God
Who both hears and answers.
The RESULT of praying is to receive HIS
"peace" that keeps us calm in
stressful situations.
We cannot CONTROL every situation to our
own satisfaction.
But we can RELEASE every situation to our
Sovereign God Who works all things "together
for good to them that love God, to them who are
the called according to his purpose." (Rom. 8:28)
Is your prayer path WORN or GRASSY?
"Pray without ceasing!" (1Thess. 5:17)
LIVE in an ATTITUDE of prayer!
Love ya!
