Perhaps the favorite song to adults is:
JESUS LOVES ME.
It is the song we learned as a child.
And, it tells us WHY...."this I KNOW!!"
"Jesus loves me this I KNOW
for the Bible TELLS me so!
1 To the chief Musician upon Neg'-i-nah,
A Psalm of David.
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee,
when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the
rock that is higher than I.
3 For thou hast been a shelter for me,
and a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever:
I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
LIGHT from the WORD.
David wrote many prayers into songs.
This prayer is to be sung with stringed instruments (Neg'-i-nah).
Ps. 61 exhibits a committed trust in God.
The ONLY way we can find victory in this life is through
a COMMITMENT to God's salvation offered through Jesus Christ.
The word "cry" denotes this is to be sung aloud.
It is a song of COMMITMENT!
In verse 2, we are assured that we can cry out in prayer
to God ANYWHERE and under ANY circumstances!
In verse 3 we are assured we will find "shelter"
in knowing God; because He is "a strong tower
from the enemy!"
In verse 4 there is a commitment to TRUST God ETERNALLY!
The saved KNOW they will rest in God's tent forever!
And, they know they can run to him ANY TIME just
as little chicks run to the mother hen when they are afraid.
Let your prayers come aloud to God in:
