The usher said, "If the baby starts to cry, you'll have to
leave; however, you can ask for your money back."
About 10 minutes into the movie, the couple realized
it was a dud.
The husband looked at the wife and asked,
"Shall we wake up Johnny?"
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous,
but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send
forth labourers into his harvest.
LIGHT from the WORD.
There are many things that can happen to a field of grain ready
for harvest: hurricanes, tornadoes, locusts, blight, mildew, drought, etc.
Even though those things can, and do, happen to a field, the farmer
still needs laborers to gather the harvest at the appropriate time.
Though difficulties come, sowing will still lead to reaping.
Also, there are many things that happen to a spiritual harvest:
greed, lust, envy, pride, thievery, murders, adulteries, etc.
But, the worst thing that can happen to a spiritual harvest is
apathy and laxness on the part of the laborers!
Hurricanes and tornadoes are brought into the fields by church splits.
The "locusts" of the devil's legions try to erode the fields.
The "blight" of evil's growth eats away at hearts who may believe.
Mildew and drought are brought on by unconcerned and insincere
Our prayer must be for "laborers!"
Pray for strength in the laborers that ARE!
Pray for ADDED laborers with a zeal to gather!
The "LORD" of this harvest is Jesus Christ!
He is the One Who has committed to Christians the task
He is the One Who can strengthen us for the work.
And He is the One Who can add "to the church daily
such as should be saved." (Acts 2:47)
Pray EARNESTLY, and
for LABORERS in Christ's harvest!
And WORK with PATIENCE!
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.
Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth,
and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
