THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Jim was a construction contractor.
One of his workers called in sick one day, so Jim hired a “temp.”

After about an hour, he decided to check on the “temp.”
The guy was nailing boards on the side of a house.
He’d pull a nail out of the pouch and look at it.
Sometimes he’d use it, other times he’d throw it to the side.

Jim asked, “Why are you throwing those nails out?”
Temp, “The head of the nail was pointing the wrong way.”
Jim, “Are you crazy? Those nails are for the other side of the house!”

THOUGHT____________________________________

The physical temple Solomon built for the Lord was constructed without sound of tools at the site.
The spiritual temple Jesus is building is constructed in the same manner.
All is prepared before arriving at the site.

All our prayers and efforts cannot ready us for our place in our Lord’s heaven.
We can only be made ready as the Master Carpenter perfectly shapes us.

Like the quarry stones in Solomon’s temple, we each have rough edges.
We must be carefully cut and shaped.
Like the cedar planks in Solomon’s temple, we each are unprepared wood.
We must be carefully sawed and planed.

In Solomon’s temple everything was prepared exactly, and it fit perfectly when brought in.
So it is in Christ’s eternal temple.
When we arrive, there will be no altering or amending.

Christian, when you face adversities in your life, remember Christ is shaping you for your place in heaven.
And, each time He works on you, it is with unchangeable love, and unlimited grace.
Be prepared here so you can be placed there.

Murmuring and complaining will only hinder the work of our Lord.
Let us be molded in His love and grace.

Love ya!
