THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A young salesman finally got the receptionist of a large company to let him see the sales manager.
He entered the office, and said, "Sir. I don't suppose you'd like to buy any life insurance, would you?"

The sales manager replied curtly, "No!"

The young salesman said, "I didn't think so."
Then he started to leave.
But the sales manager stopped him.

He said, "Young man. I train sales managers. And you are about the worst I've ever seen!
You must develop some confidence and you need a standard organized sales presentation.
Now, because you are new, I'm going to help you out by purchasing a $10,000 life policy."

After they had finished completing the papers.
The sales manager said, "Now don't forget to develop confidence and a standard organized sales presentation."

The young man smiled, "Yes, Sir. This IS my standard organized sales presentation for sales managers!"

Matt 15:22-28
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away;
for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith:
be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

THOUGHT____________________________________

She came with pure faith!
This gentile woman knew that it was a tremendous miracle that she was asking.
But she knew also it was NOTHING for Christ to accomplish it.

She owned Him as her Lord, and begged for His help.
Her faith made her CLING to the truth of God's Person and character.
She KNEW He was full of compassion, and she would not leave until her request was answered.
If it be "No," then she would at least have had an answer.
And if it be "Yes," then it would be all the more wonderful for her and her daughter.

Jesus used the analogy of a great Master who had a tremendous meal for his chosen people,
but it wasn't intended to cast the bread from that table to "dogs."
Still, her faith made her CLING to Him.
She said, "Yes, Lord. It is but a CRUMB for You to do this, but for me it is a FULL MEAL!"

She prevailed in prayer!
She stayed praying until an answer came.

It is but a crumb for Christ to forgive our sins;
but to us it is ETERNAL SALVATION!
It is but a crumb for Christ to comfort our souls;
but to us it is "the peace that passeth all understanding."
It is but a crumb for Christ to pour out grace "unmeasured";
but to us it is "exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think"!

Oh! That we Christians would realize the power of PREVAILING prayer!

Love ya!
