DAILY DEVOTION

HI!

It's not about the ,
It's about the MANGER !

Tommy, a fourth-grader, went to school.
His dog followed him.
When the bell rang, the dog slipped in and went all the way to
Tommy's room.

The teacher shoo'd him out, and closed the door.

The dog sat down outside the school and began to whimper.
Just then, Jesus came and sat beside the dog.

He patted his head and said, "Don't feel bad little fella. They
sometimes won't let ME in either!"

SCRIPTURE______________________________

Luke 2:15-17
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them
into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even
unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which
the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the
babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying
which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told
them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the
things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

LIGHT from the WORD.

The news holds lots of different perspectives on the Christmas
Manger Scene in public places.
In some cities and towns, the scene isn't allowed, and in others it is.
In some schools the main theme of Christmas plays is the birth of Christ.
But in some schools no Christmas scenes are allowed.

There's a lesson here!

One purpose of knowing Christ is to TELL OTHERS of Christ!

Notice the shepherds "..made known abroad the saying
which was told them concerning this Child."

They were "...praising God for all the things that they had heard
and seen, as it was told unto them."

Can you imagine those shepherds being told they could NOT tell
stories of the Christ Child in public places?
Can you imagine the wise men being told they could NOT share
Christ in the schools?

They were WITNESSES of Christ's birth!
They TOLD about it wherever they went!

It is our JOY to share Jesus with EVERYONE!

The GREATEST story ever told is that God became a man,
born as a baby!
And Jesus grew up "..as a tender plant, and as a root out of a
dry ground.."
(See Is. 53:2)

The SADDEST story every told is that "He is despised and
rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised,
and we esteemed him not!" (See Is. 53:3)

If Christ has been born in YOUR heart,
TELL the world that He has come!

That's what CHRISTmas is all about!

Love ya!
