Today's Devotion:
"Praise God For HATS"
I wear a large, wide-brim hat when I'm
playing golf.
One day, I was walking off the green and
heading for the cart - but felt a large
TUG on my rear hat brim.
I took the hat off and looked.
It was a LARGE glob of bird dropping!
Two things struck my mind quickly:
1) That had to be a LARGE bird;
2) and, THANK the Lord I wasn't
HATLESS!

1John 3:8-9
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has
sinned from the beginning. For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested, that He might
destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin,
for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin,
because he has been born of God.

_______THOUGHT______________
Very often, people STUMBLE over passages
of Scripture.
Mainly, that happens because of mis-reading
the verb tense, or the context in which it is
written.
The Bible is perfectly harmonious, in that
the Scripture is:
First, inspired by God;
Second, agreeing with other scripture.
Consider the verb tense of the verses above.
They are written in the present continuous tense.
This would indicate that (in verse 8) the person
who CONTINUES in sin is "of the devil."
And that is because the devil has CONTINUED
in sin since the beginning.
However, Jesus came to "destroy the works of
the devil."
Therefore, he/she who has committed to Christ
has "His seed" remaining.
So, the person who has been "born of God"
"cannot" CONTINUE in sin.
Ephesians 2:13 says that the born again
Christian is "SEALED" in the Spirit of God!
The truly born again drunkard no longer
CONTINUES to be a drunkard.
The truly born again drug addict no longer
CONTINUES to be a drug addict.
The truly born again homosexual no longer
CONTINUES to be a homosexual.
Some people only READ the Scripture and
do not STUDY the Scripture to gain the true
meaning.
Don't be HATLESS!
Be a STUDENT and STUDY!
