THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
He pulled into the parking lot of the mall and rolled all the car windows
down a little to make sure his Labrador Retriever had fresh air.
She was stretched out in the back seat, and he wanted to impress on
her to stay there.
So he backed away from the car, pointing his finger and saying,
A man in a nearby parked car watched with interest.
He rolled down his window and said, “Why don’t you just put it in PARK?”
1 Tim 2:1-2
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead
a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:
but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Light from the Word.
It would be good if we could not only train animals, but also some
PEOPLE, to STAY!
Christians, we have an obligation to our leaders to PRAY for them.
God teaches us that we are to pray diligently for those in authority IF --
we want to "lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness
We also have an obligation to the citizenry around us.
That obligation is to pray that those in authority do not make
"the people MOURN!"
When leaders utilize their authority to do wrong, it causes GRIEF
for the people.
Indeed, let us PRAY!
Put your life in PARK at least once a day and PRAY!
Pray that God will send Holy Spirit conviction upon all our leaders;
that once again sin would become shame;
and that the manner of our leaders become such that business
is conducted with moral righteousness.
