THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Many years ago, I was manager of a large grocery store.
One Saturday night, I kept four of our workers to “strip” the floor and put on new wax.
I had told the workers to be sure and wear old clothes and old shoes.

In the process of stripping the floor, the workers found that the bleach made the floor very slippery.
After spreading the bleach they would run and slide on the floor.

Well, all work should be fun.

But the next week, they had to buy new shoes!

Ps 40:2
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Sin is like a slippery, “horrible pit,” or “miry clay.”
Without Christ, all people slide around in it.
While in that slimy substance, one is vulnerable to attack; and,
ultimately must pay an awful price!

But, Jesus will take us OUT of the slimy pit, and put us upon the “Rock!”
When we are placed upon Him, there is no need for fear; and,
He has already paid the cost!

Not only does Christ clean us up, set us upon the “Rock;” but,
He also “establishes” our “goings!”

Paul said in Philippians 1:6, he was:
“...confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

You see, the same power which raised Jesus from the dead, INHABITS those who are surrendered to Him!
Ephesians 1:13 says,
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

Once “sealed,” God begins to work “.. in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)

Christ cleans us up, sets us upon a solid foundation, and provides us all we need to live a victorious life.

Quit slidin’ and start standin’!

Love ya!
