THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Charlie Brown was building a birdhouse, and Lucy was looking on.
Charlie said, "Well, I'm a lousy carpenter. I can't nail straight, I can't saw straight, and I always split the wood. I'm nervous,
I lack confidence, I'm stupid, I have poor taste and absolutely no sense of design."
Lucy was looking on and said, "So, all things considered, it's coming along okay?"
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Poor Charlie Brown had no confidence!
Confidence, for a Christian, comes by learning and obeying the Word of God.
The REAL LIFE that God offers is based on His WORD, not our abilities!
Applying God's Word to the "heart" (as in verse 21 above), means to learn what God says, and
then make decisions according to His instructions.
That takes the focus off what MAN can do, and puts the focus upon what GOD can do!
And, that's the way to "Keep thy heart with all diligence..."
You see, the mind only THINKS: retains memory, filters through information.
But, the "heart" is where we make our DECISIONS!
All of creation is founded upon God's WORD!
Eternal salvation is founded upon God's WORD!
Eternity itself is founded upon God's WORD!
REAL life is found in:
LEARNING God's Word,
and APPLYING it to our decisions!
So, what about it?
Are you living REAL LIFE, or just an IMITATION?
