THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

While looking at a house, the potential buyer asked the real estate agent which direction was North.
He explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning.

She asked, "Does the sun rise in the North?"
The buyer explained that the sun rises in the East, (and has for sometime).
She shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff."

Gen 9:1
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

THOUGHT____________________________________

Noah had just "built an altar" and "offered burnt offerings" (Gen. 8:20).
Now, Noah and his family are assured that God has good will toward them.
They are assured that He will have gracious intentions toward them.

God "blessed" Noah and his family.
He also told them (just as He did Adam and Eve) to "be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth."
God gave them possession.

God loves people!
Even though He knows that "the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth" (Gen 8:21), God LOVES people.
God has a plan for the redemption of man.

When God's people "bless" God, then God "blesses" His people!
When we are truly thankful for the blessings God gives us, then we are assured that He will continue and multiply those blessings.

Noah and his family were given the WHOLE of the earth and everything in it.
It is not "The Garden of Eden," it is a WILDERNESS.
But they will be feared and respected in all the earth.

You and I, as Christians committed to Christ, are placed in the world.
It is not "The Garden of Eden," it is a wilderness.
But, thank God, it is not HELL!
THAT'S what we DESERVE!
And through God's plan of redemption, in Christ, we are given the promise of soon inhabiting HEAVEN!

Along with possession comes responsibility.
As you and I live in this world today, let us realize three things:
1) We should THANK God for His blessings,
2) We should LIVE knowing that God has put respect of Christians in all people,
3) We should SHARE God's plan of redemption through Christ with others.

Only Jesus can turn a MESS into a MESSAGE;
a TEST into a TESTIMONY;
a TRIAL into TRIUMPH;
and a VICTIM into a VICTOR.

Praise the LORD Who makes us overcomers!

Love ya!
