Today's Devotion:
"REJOICING in CONFLICT!"
HI!
The carpenters had been in the church
all week replacing the floors and the
front door.
But, Sunday morning found that they had
left a CONFLICT.
The sign above the front door had read:
"GATEWAY TO HEAVEN."
Now it read "USE OTHER ENTRANCE!"
_______SCRIPTURE____________
Matt 5:11-12
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile
you, and persecute you, and shall say all
manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for
great is your reward in heaven: for so
persecuted they the prophets which were
before you.

_______THOUGHT______________
Do the Scriptures above present a
CONFLICT?
"Rejoice, and be exceeding glad" when
we are despised, hated, lied about,
mocked, and persecuted?
How can that be?
In the Old Testament, the prophet
Nehemiah said, "... the JOY of the Lord
is your STRENGTH!" (Neh. 8:10)
The WORLD presents conflict, but for
the Christian the "joy of the Lord" is in
KNOWING that he/she has a place in
"...the land of promise..."
And that land has a "builder and maker"
that is GOD! (Heb. 11:9-10)
The word "Blessed" in Matt. 5:12 above,
is translated from the Greek makarios.
It means to be blissfully happy.
The whole OBJECT in Christianity is to
KNOW we will live forever in the PRESENCE
of our Lord!
Knowing that, CONQUERS any trouble
we face in the world!
Prov. 14:26 says, "In the fear (genuine
respect) of the LORD is STRONG
CONFIDENCE: and His children shall
have a place of REFUGE."
That refuge is IN the Lord Jesus!
Let the PRESENCE of the Lord help
you CONQUER the conflict fo the world!
REJOICE in Christ, EVEN when you
face CONFLICT!
The REVERENCE of the LORD is
your STRENGTH!
Love ya!
