THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
At the end of the last meeting, the pastor was making a closing statement in one of the revivals I preached.
He said, “And, Bro. Bruce has done some fine preaching. Nothing extraordinary, just simple Bible preaching.”
My wife remembers that remark, and reminds me often!
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Sometimes it is good to be reminded of things!
When we are having difficult times in our lives, it is good to remember the wonderful things God has done for us.
For instance: Go back and visit the day of your salvation.
You remember the inescapable closeness of the Lord.
You remember the Holy Spirit’s powerful conviction upon your soul.
And, you remember His commissioning, as He washed you in the blood of Jesus, and cleansed your soul!
One way we can be more aware of God’s daily working in our lives is to remember!
The experiences we have had with Him in the past become useful memories!
There is no sweeter place to be than in the presence of the Lord!
God wants us to live there every day!
As long as you are in the “shadow” of His wings, you are in His protective care!
