THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The farmer’s donkey fell down in an old well on a Sunday morning.
The farmer went to church anyway, considering what he should do.
After church, the farmer asked some friends to come help him fill in the old well with dirt.
They all pitched in and began shoveling dirt into the well.
In about an hour, the donkey climbed out of the well, shaking dirt off his back!
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Christian, know this: Jesus DEFEATED death, hell and the grave!
That ole devil’s head is CRUSHED!
Yes, he’s still writhing around slinging dirt on whomever he can.
But, his “power of death” is GONE!
When a person surrenders to Jesus, that person is BORN AGAIN!
That person is made a “new creature”!! (2Cor. 5:17)
That person no longer is “dead in trespasses and sin”! (Eph. 2:1)
And, that person is “sealed” in the Holy Spirit of God! (Eph. 1:13)
And God’s Holy Spirit is the power by Whom Jesus was raised from the dead!
The Christian is “delivere(d)” from the “fear of death!”
The ole “snake” (the devil) loves slinging dirt!
He likes to tempt you with sin.
He likes to remind you of sin.
Jesus said, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
Jesus also said, “25 ... I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25-26)
Soon, the ole devil will be consigned to ETERNAL death in the “...lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev 20:10)
So, the next time the devil reminds you of your PAST,
remind him of his FUTURE!
When he slings dirt on you, shake it off, and KEEP CLIMBING!
