THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Dad said, "Go to college, son. Get a good job. Then one day you'll have a nice big house and a fine car. Then you'll long for the "good ole days" when you were raised poor."

I said, "Why is that Dad?"

He said, "When you see all the bills each month, you'll remember who you ARE!"

Whether dirt poor or living in the lap of luxury, Christians need to remember who we ARE!

We are CHRIST'S!

We are His because He bought us with the price of His own blood.
We are His because we have surrendered ourselves to His Lordship.
We are His because we are sealed in His Spirit.
We are His because we are named with His Name.

The world will invite you to forget who you ARE by constant harassment of the tongue. We are daily exposed to a barrage of indecent expletives. Sometimes they are directed toward our person. But we should not join in the use of such language. Instead we should remember who we ARE. Labor to increase your vocabulary and abstain from using the language of indecency.

The world will invite you to forget who you ARE through anger. Incidents will happen which we feel are unwarranted, and tempt us to "lose our kewl!" But we should not allow temper to control us; rather we should control temper. Remember who you ARE! Labor to keep control.

The world will invite you to forget who you ARE through greed, selfishness, jealousy, prejudice, lust, and many more self-gratifying feelings. However, when those emotions arise, we can overcome them by remembering who we ARE!

We are CHRIST'S! We are wrapped in His endless love, filled with His self-control, dedicated by His sanctification, and taught by His inerrant Word.

And HE is GOD'S! All that is good in us is by Christ Who draws us to Himself that we may eternally belong to God.

The immortal character of God Himself is ours by "joint heirship."

Let us exhibit it wherever we go by remembering who we ARE!

Love ya,
Bruce
