DAILY DEVOTION

HI!

Two young men went visiting on a Thursday evening.
They were inviting people to their church.

At one house, the lady was indignant.
She said, “I’ll have you know I’m a member
of >>>>>> church!”
Then, she slammed the door!

To her surprise, the door just bounced right back at her!
She thought, “Just WHO do these people think they are?”

Then, she slammed the door with great vigor.
But, again, it just bounced right back at her.

With a stern look, she bolstered herself, believing
one of the young men had his foot in the door.
Just as she was about to slam it the third time,
one of the young men said quickly,

“Ma’am, before you do that again,
you might want to remove your cat!”

SCRIPTURE______________________________

2 Chron 32:24-26
24 In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death,
and prayed unto the LORD: and He spake unto him,
and He gave him a sign.
25 But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the
benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up:
therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon
Judah and Jerusalem.
26 Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the
pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the
days of Hezekiah.

THOUGHT________________________________

LIGHT from the WORD.

Hezekiah had been “sick to the death.”
But, he prayed earnestly, and God granted him
15 more years of physical life!

Then Hezekiah became proud; his “heart was lifted up.”
He became very self-righteous.
Hezekiah began to live in the security of his
OWN righteousness!
Then, God WITHHELD His grace and brought "wrath"!

Later, Hezekiah realized his error.
He “humbled himself for the pride of his heart.”
The people of Jerusalem JOINED him in repentance.
And, God withheld His WRATH!

We have this problem in the government and churches
of America today!

When God’s grace is poured upon Christians,
they are bright lights to the world.

But when the Son of Righteousness WITHHOLDS
His grace, NOTHING is darker!

Let us plead with God to forgive us of arrogance
and self-righteousness!

Let us “humble (ourselves) for the pride of (our) hearts!”

THEN -- our nation will see REVIVAL in Christians,
and RENOVATION in our government!

Love ya!
