THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
On a very busy holiday, a lady was trying to find a parking place on the street.
She had driven up and down the street several times.
Finally, she said, "Lord, if you'll help me find a parking place, I'll give up gossip, attend church more often, and ...."
Just then, she saw someone backing out of a parking space.
She ended her prayer with, "...never mind Lord, I found one."
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
God works miracles through willing people!
The disciples had "toiled all the night" to catch fish, and had caught nothing.
But, at Jesus' command, they caught "a great multitude of fishes!"
I am reminded, by this story, that Jesus said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Matt 4:19)
How does one catch fish?
By casting out the net.
How does one catch men?
By telling the Gospel, the good news of Jesus.
Bringing someone to know Christ is a miracle God performs.
It is impossible for us to do alone.
But, "...with God all things are possible!" (Mark 10:27)
Before we testify of Jesus, let us prayerfully seek His presence!
