Gal 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into
Christ have put on Christ.

Rom 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into
death: that like as Christ was raised up from the
dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also
should walk in newness of life.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not
provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

_______THOUGHT______________
I'm only making two resolutions for the coming
year.
1) I will shave 3 times per week.
2) I will keep that resolution at least one week.
(((hehehehehehehe)))
Most folk make New Year resolution mentally, or
emotionally.
And those resolutions fail too often because
they have no SPIRITUAL fortification.
Allow me to share a couple thoughts about each
of the Scriptures above.
Galatians 3:27
*First, those who are truly Christians have been
made so by surrender to Christ as Lord of their
lives.
*Second, by the power of God's Holy Spirit
within them, they have been "baptized INTO
Christ!"
Romans 6:4
*First, baptism is a symbol of a repentant
person dying to self (Luke 9:23).
*Second, baptism is a symbol of being raised
from that death by the power of God's Holy Spirit.
Romans 13:14
*First, after our salvation, it is our desire to "put
ON" more of Christ each day in our living.
*Second, that desire is deeper and greater than
our desire to be filled by the sinful pleasures of
the world.
When we RECOGNIZE we are sinners;
and REALIZE Jesus is the ONLY means of saving us;
we REPENT and begin to live FOR HIM instead of
for ourselves.
And, our LIVING should SHOW that.
Galatians 2:20 says,
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I,
but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in
the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved
me, and gave himself for me."
So, let us RESOLVE to SHOW more of Christ in us
by our LIVING this coming year!
