Gypsy Smith was once asked how to start a revival.

He answered, "Go home, lock yourself in your room and kneel down in the middle of your floor. Draw a chalk mark all around yourself and ask God to start the revival inside that chalk mark. When he has answered your prayer, the revival will be on."

1 Kings 19:5-8
4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

Elijah, that great prophet of God, was discouraged.
He went out into the woods to DIE!

Elijah was discouraged, but his life was still based on a relationship with the Lord.
He went into the wilderness, and the first thing he did was PRAY!
Even though he prayed a prayer of discouragement (vs 4), God's power in the relationship gave Elijah new strength.

Through one action (prayer), God gave Elijah two sources of strength that brought REVIVAL to Elijah's soul.
Elijah was fed the water and bread of God.

You see, dear Christian, God's "journey" for us in this life is "too great for thee!" (vs 7)
You must have the strength and power of God in order to live according to the purpose He has for you.

When we genuinely seek God through prayer daily, He provides REVIVAL in our souls by giving us strength from His power.

First, God gives us the "water of life."
This comes from our relationship with Christ.
Jesus said in Revelation 21:6 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."

Second, God gives us the "bread of life."
Again, this comes from our relationship with Christ.
Jesus said in John 6:48, "I am that bread of life."

Let us daily admit that we are too weak to live according to the purpose of God in our lives.
And let us daily renew our relationship with Him through prayer.
Then God will supply the strength we need for REVIVAL!

Love ya!
