THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Sailing upon the sea of life, we may experience winds of sorrow and waves of anguish.
But we can sing to The Master Of The Sea, and find "grace to help in time of need."
22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Paul and Silas were in the "inner prison" shackled to the floor.
But they had a PLAN!
Everyone faces trauma.
Get a plan for dealing with it!
When the difficulties of life imprison us in the dungeons of our souls,
let faith echo from the walls with singing and praise to our Lord.
We can always sing of mercy and of judgment!
"I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing." (Ps 101:1)
We have received MERCY!
Whatever we are facing, it is not as severe as it should have been!
Our sins demanded punishment and death.
But our dear Savior has taken our punishment and died FOR us!
Through the vicarious suffering and death of our Lord, we have received acquittal from eternal death.
In its place, God has provided eternal life in heaven with Him!
"3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy
hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Peter 1:3-5)
Sail your ship of life with the winds of God's mercy and grace!
And, sing and rejoice of His judgment already received!
Look what happened when Paul & Silas did this.
"And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken:
and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed." (Acts 16:26)
