THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Victor Borge (the great pianist) was once asked if he played any
He said, “Well, yes. I have another piano.”
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption
of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Light from the Word.
There’s a wonderful old song: Saved, Saved!
The chorus goes like this:
“Saved by His power divine,
Saved to new life sublime!
Life now is sweet and my joy is complete,
For I’m saved, saved, saved!”
The devil doesn’t like that song!
He often tries to get Christians to sing a different song.
When he tries to get you to sing a different song, just sing that
1. When you believed in Christ, you surrendered to become His servant.
The Greek word from which “believed” is translated above is pisteuo
It means believed, trusted, committed to.
2. Though you surrendered to be a servant, Jesus “sealed”
you to be a “son!”
The Greek word from which “sealed” is translated is sphragizo
It means stamped, sealed up, set to.
3. Therefore, Jesus has made you sure, or "confident”
of your salvation!
The Greek word from which “confident” is translated is peitho
(pi-tho). ( Philippians 1:6)
It means to be confident, sure, to rely on.
A Christian is:
Surrendered to become a servant,
Sealed to be a son, and
Sure of his/her salvation!
SING IT AGAIN!!
