THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Sam was experiencing his first semester at university, living in the dormitory.

He got his books, pencils, notepads and put them on his desk preparing to study.
Then he made coffee, and brought a cup to the desk.

He sat down in the easy chair his mom had bought for him.

Then, he promptly fell asleep!

2 Peter 1:5-8
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

THOUGHT____________________________________

Christian, do you want to experience the fullness of your life in and with Jesus?
Do you desire His Holy Spirit’s presence and influence in your lifestyle?

Then don’t fall asleep in your education!

You have been called, and convinced that Jesus is Lord.
You have committed your life to Him based on simple “faith”;
trusting and clinging to Him for forgiveness and eternal life.

Now, “giving all diligence, ADD to your faith...”
Utilize concentration, dedication, planning and stick-to-itiveness!

Add such wonderful things to your life in Christ as:
“knowledge” of His Bible – which is your instruction manual,
“temperance,” determining with character those things in (or with) which you partake,
“patience,” enduring difficulties with self-control,
“godliness,” living in close relationship with Jesus and mirroring His character,
“brotherly kindness,” loving and caring for Christian brothers and sisters,
and “charity,” benevolent love toward all people.

These characteristics do not suddenly “appear” in a Christian.
They are the results of “giving all diligence, (and) ADD(ING) to your faith!!”

Don’t “fall asleep” at your desk of faith!!

Love ya!
