THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A young journeyman missionary went to relieve the
missionary in a foreign country for 1 year while the
missionary went home for leave.

There was a jeep that was used for travel.
After about 6 weeks, the jeep would not start.
The young journeyman wasn't familiar with repairing
vehicles.
So, he rode a bicycle.

11 months later, the missionary returned.
The journeyman told him about the jeep not starting.

The missionary went to the jeep, and opened the hood.
He took off the battery cables and cleaned them.
When he replaced them, the jeep started immediately.

He looked at the journeyman and said,
"You just lost connection to the power source."

SCRIPTURE_____________________________

2 Tim 3:1-4
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.

There is no doubt that "perilous times" are here NOW!
As a general whole, mankind can certainly be described
by the words in verses 2-4 above.
Also, there are many who make a show of "godliness,"
giving signs of following doctrine and practice; but, they DENY the
"power thereof."

What IS the "power" of truly following Christ?
Where is the STRENGTH of our faith?

It is in the CONNECTION to Him Who is omnipotent - all power!

This computer will not work unless it is connected to the
power source.
The car motor will not start unless it is connected to the battery.

Those are two actions of faith which every believer needs to
PERSISTENTLY PRACTICE!

WATCH! and PRAY!
Be alert, and stay in contact with God!

This is the ONLY way to counteract laziness, lethargy, and apathy.

Be careful to note that the day of Christ's appearing COULD come
"upon you UNAWARES!"

WATCH! and PRAY!
Be alert, and keep your CONNECTION with God through prayer.

Love ya!
