THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When I was 9, I broke my arm.
After 6 weeks we went to the doctor's office to have the cast removed.
That doctor had a SAW!
He was gonna SAW the cast off my arm!

I kept holding my arm back, 'cause I was scared!

Dad said, "Son, you want the cast off don't you?"
I said, "Yes, Sir."
He said, "Then you must hold your arm out, and let him take it off."

Then, the doctor started the saw, and touched it to his hand!
WOW! It didn't even cut him.

So, I reached out my arm.
And, he sawed off the cast easily.

Luke 14:1-6
1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
6 And they could not answer him again to these things.

THOUGHT____________________________________

Jesus knew the Pharisees were watching Him closely.
They were only there to try and find something they could use against Him!

The world is like that today.
People only try to find the wrong in Christians so they'll have an excuse to deny Christianity.

Notice the power of Christ for our help is based on willingness to do as He said.
The man with the withered hand stretched out his hand on Christ's command - and He was healed!

The "scribes and Pharisees" with the withered hearts would not stretch out their heart to Christ, and were not healed!

Life is difficult. We will face circumstances which hurt us.
Jesus is quite willing to give "grace to help in time of need." (Heb. 4:16)

But we must be willing to be obedient servants to Him ( Luke 9:23)

Jesus can heal your pride, prejudicial thoughts, hurt, anger, bitterness.
But you must be willing to stretch out your heart to Him!

Love ya!
