THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The 3rd grade teacher was about to discipline little Johnny.
He had laughed out loud in class.
Johnny said, “I’m really sorry, teacher.
I was only smiling, but the smile BUSTED!”
2 Cor 5:14-15
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
We are SAVED by grace, given faith, and CONTINUE by more grace through faith which God continually pours out.
Christians are independent of mankind, though we live in the midst of them.
We live totally dependent upon God's empowering and enabling which He provides through the presence of His Holy Spirit in our lives.
And though mankind seeks to suppress him/her, the Christian remains CONSTRAINED and SUSTAINED by our Lord God. (2Cor 5:14-15 above)
As a result, genuine Christians cannot help but be witnesses to their genuine salvation!
God, by the presence of His Holy Spirit, is constantly working IN US to bring His testimony OUT of us! (Philippians 2:13 above)
A local pastor preached a sermon on Sunday morning entitled, “Why The Church DIED!”
During the 20 minute sermon, he spoke about 3 important things the church did not do.
1) The church did not visit with the sick.
2) The church provided no educational and recreational activities for the young or the old.
3) The church had not seen a baptism in 3 years.
At the end of the sermon, the pastor rolled out a coffin.
He invited the members to come and look at HOW the church died.
As each member approached the coffin, there was a mirror tilted at just the right angle!
Today, Lord, help us to be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit;
And, by the same grace which SEALED us, please SUSTAIN us, and CONSTRAIN us to speak up about Jesus!
