THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
One Sunday, I was preaching on Proverbs 16:24:
"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul,
and health to the bones."
During the sermon, I said, "You can catch more flies with honey
than with vinegar."
That night, after we got home, my wife leaned over, put her head
on my shoulder, and whispered in my ear,
"I just love to watch your muscles ripple when you take out the garbage."
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of
the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable
company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which
are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits
of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the
blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Light from the Word.
Christian, when you first heard the Gospel of Jesus, God's Holy Spirit
spoke sweet words to your heart.
He shared how you could be a part of God's Holy Presence,
and you could walk with angels.
He spoke to your heart and said God could make your sinful life "perfect!"
God's Holy Spirit spoke to your heart and said Jesus would put upon you
the cloak of HIS righteousness!
God's Holy Spirit also said, you must come to "Jesus the Mediator of the new
covenant, and to the blood of (His) sprinkling."
It is not whether you have once come that matters.
It is whether you "ARE come."
That means you are coming to Him continually!
The joy of the Christian life is KNOWING His PRESENCE!
Are you coming to Jesus daily in prayer?
