DAILY DEVOTION

HI!

A driver backed his dump truck too far over the grade.
The weight of the load lifted the front of the truck several
feet off the ground.

His helper asked, "Now what do we do?"

The driver jumped from his seat and grabbed some things
from his tool box.
Then he said, "Well, now's a perfect time to give it a grease
job while we're waiting for the wrecker to pull us free."

LIGHT from the WORD.

Four short commands which instill empathy, kindness and respect.

NONE are to be despised or looked down upon.
All are to be given respect because they are created by our Lord.
Every human life has some dignity to which we can show honor,
and from which we can learn.
Honor them by sharing Christ with them.

We are to treat our fellow Christians as Christ would treat them,
for "God is love."
His love is a commitment of caring and not only a feeling of emotion.
In genuine sincerity accept, commune with, and care for your fellow
brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Greek word here is phobe'o, meaning to have such great
fright it is reflected in awesome reverence.
And I believe Peter was referring to that latter part --
showing great reverence for God.
It should be coordinated into every part of our life that we express
our reverence for Christ our Creator, Savior and Judge.

Christ has set us free from the domination of Satan and sin.
However, we are left on earth for the time being;
and we are still subject to our masters.
When we are young, we are subject to our parents and school teachers.
When we are older, we are subject to our bosses, to governmental leaders
and to law enforcement.

Christians have been "washed in the blood" of Christ.
One day, and perhaps soon, we will be pulled by Him to eternal freedom.

Until then, we are to be SHOWING Christ in our living.

Love ya!
